Guest - Media Log - Jacob H
1. This past day has been a fairly typical day of media exposure. I checked facebook and twitter periodically throughout the day like I usually do. I watched the news which I do sometimes, but definitely not every day. As I was on my way to school I was exposed to a variety of different medias, such as the radio and billboards. As I was walking around school I saw a bunch of posters/advertisements. I also had many exposures from people. One example is when ms. Nieland told us about the person who used twitter when they commited a crime, and the authorities are now using that to build a case. After school I went home and went on youtube which I do every day.
2. My most used forms of media exposure are facebook, twitter, and youtube. Facebook and twitter I check throughout the day however I don’t spend much time on them. I go on youtube every day after school for at least an hour. Youtube is a great site to go to because not only does it have videos of almost anything you can think of you can also find news stories on it.
3. My highest time of exposure is after school. I think that’s my highest exposure time because after school I’m tired and not ready to do homework so I go on social network sites to waste time. Another time I use social network sites is at the end of classes. This is a high time of exposure because usually at the end of classes we have a few extra minutes, and you can’t do much so I see a lot of people including myself use it at this time.
4. My ability to multi-task is not very good. If I’m on my phone doing something, and you try to tell me something I will likely not understand what you are saying. Even something as simple as listening to music while I’m working can distract me. I try to save these things for when I’m not doing anything.
5. Most of the time when I’m using media I am the audience. When I’m on facebook or twitter I tend not to post things very often; I enjoy hearing what other people have to say. On youtube I rarely post comments, and never post videos; I just watch things other people post.
